Job description
Job title: Fleet Maintenance Mechanic
Location: Barrow-In-Furness (This is a full-time on-site position)
Salary: £37,318.00
What You’ll Be Doing
• Maintaining all company fleet vehicles to relevant standards including minimum MOT standard where applicable
• Attending fleet vehicle breakdowns as appropriate either on-site or on the public highway, completing diagnostics and subsequent repairs where necessary
• Maintaining complex vehicle hydraulic systems on a wide range of vehicles including heavy transport vehicles
• Escorting/Operating heavy transport vehicles as required during service or breakdowns
• Carrying out servicing on marine engines and equipment where required
• Carrying out servicing and repairs on Passenger Carrying Vehicles
• Servicing and maintaining Mechanical Handling Equipment
Essential
Your skills and experiences:
• Qualified to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
• Demonstrable vehicle maintenance experience
• Experience in maintenance of hydraulic and electrical systems
• Experience of operating lifting equipment such as cranes/forklifts
Desirable
• Hold LGV C+E License
• HGV Repair experience
• Ability to operate heavy transporters where applicable

The Supply Chain Logistics Repair Garage Team
Working within the Supply Chain Logistics Repair Garage, you will deal with internal/external stakeholders across multiple levels and functions. You will be well organised with ability to manage multiple priorities and plan accordingly.
You should have excellent communication skills when dealing with all levels of stakeholders. You will have the ability to work well in a team environment and be able to influence and inspire people around you.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to work in an interesting role because of the ability to contribute to the manufacturing of world class submarines across multiple programmes; this role is very varied due to the nature of the tasks and the possibility of self-development.
This role will also be a full time on site position, with a shift pattern of 3 days on and 4 days off. We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
